Are you an experienced LCMS specialist passionate about generating molecular insights from complex biological and chemical systems to support innovative R&D?
In this role, you will act as a key LC-MS specialist within a well-established analytical department, working at the intersection of chemistry and biology to support diverse R&D initiatives. You will be become part of a well-established department, partnering with R&D colleagues from the global IFF organization to provide insights from using high end instrumental equipment in the domains of separations (liquid and gas phase), mass spectrometry (unit resolution and HRAM) and spectroscopy (NMR, FTIR, …). The hallmark of the department is a strong inter team collaboration where the answers for moving on R&D projects come from the combined efforts of several instrumental platforms.
The tasks cover the breadth of IFF businesses with a focus on materials involved in biotechnological processes and could be a potential new raw material or the IFF product in the target application. Samples may be a novel ingredient, perhaps in a food system or biofluids from a clinical experiment where the efficacy of interventions are being studied.

Your role will be a strong support for new product development in IFF. This could be by supporting the understanding of functional properties/mode of action by providing molecular insights in complex systems by developing and applying suited methods.
You will have the opportunity to design and conduct untargeted studies to contribute to the biomarker discovery efforts of the teams and additionally scout for upgrades to the pipelines. With key molecules identified, you will develop panels for quantification of multiple components in various matrices. Besides being active in the lab, you will share knowledge and inspire colleagues throughout the global IFF R&D organization.
