We are seeking a motivated and curious R&D Engineer to join our Product Development team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a 12-month fixed-term position. While permanency is not guaranteed, the role offers valuable industry exposure, professional development, and opportunities to build your network within a global organization.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the Product Development team, you will:

• Support new product development projects and engineering initiatives from concept through commercialization.
• Translate customer, clinical, and product performance requirements into practical engineering solutions.
• Design, plan, and execute experiments to evaluate product performance and design concepts.
• Analyze technical data and communicate findings through technical reports and presentations.
• Support the development and maintenance of product specifications, manufacturing specifications, and engineering change documentation.
• Contribute to design verification activities, risk assessments, and product validation efforts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to understand and support molding, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and other production processes.
• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design-to-Cost principles to optimize product performance and commercial viability.
• Maintain project documentation and contribute to Design History Files (DHF) in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements.
• Support intellectual property development by documenting technical findings, innovative concepts, and potential patent opportunities.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and business teams as required.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, FDA Quality System Regulations, and internal product development processes.
• Contribute to a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace.
• Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives across the organization.
• Travel occasionally as required by project needs.

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Passion for innovation, technology, and product development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior internship, project, or industry experience in product development, manufacturing, engineering, or medical devices.
• Familiarity with engineering testing, data analysis, and technical documentation.
• Understanding of design controls, risk management, ISO 13485, FDA regulations, or regulated industries is advantageous.
• Experience with CAD, statistical analysis tools, or laboratory testing environments is a plus.
