The opportunity
In this role, you will become part of a multidisciplinary project team and work as an R&D Engineer within a global organization. Your focus will be on the development of high-voltage switchgear and key components, such as circuit breaker operating mechanisms drives.
This position offers a broad and exciting scope, covering topics across mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, and failure analysis. We are looking for technically skilled and motivated team players who thrive in an international environment.

How you’ll make an impact
Design and implement innovative technical concepts using 3D CAD tools, including the creation of standard-compliant 2D drawings
Analyze, implement, and approve engineering changes as part of product lifecycle management
Dimension and design components based on defined technical requirements
Plan and conduct tolerance analyses and derive necessary design improvements
Plan, execute, and coordinate validation tests, including collaboration with external laboratories
Prepare and maintain technical documentation
Drive continuous improvement by proposing enhancements and simplifications to existing designs, test setups, and data evaluation processes
Actively contribute to global, cross-functional teams and initiatives
Your background
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field, with several years of professional experience in R&D or design engineering (experience in hydraulics is a strong advantage)
Hands-on experience with 3D CAD design (Creo), SAP R/3, and technical documentation
Strong knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g., DIN, EN, material specifications)
Experience in planning, executing, and analyzing tests and experiments
Strong technical mindset with an interest in business processes and product lifecycle
Fluency in German and English (both written and spoken)
