Core Responsibilities
We are looking to hire an R&D Engineer to join their growing Research & Development team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with around 1–3 years' experience to develop their career in systems engineering, automotive simulation and advanced real-time technology.
Working as part of a collaborative R&D team, you'll contribute to the design, development, and validation of innovative simulation systems, supporting projects from concept through to delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
· Contribute to the development of new R&D projects and simulation technologies
· Support system architecture, requirements definition, verification and validation activities
· Assist with the design, testing and integration of complex engineering systems
· Produce technical documentation, test reports and development records
· Collaborate with software, hardware, manufacturing and project teams to deliver successful project outcomes
· Support real-time simulation and system integration activities
· Investigate and help resolve complex technical issues, providing support to internal teams where required
· Participate in technical reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
· Monitor project progress and escalate technical risks where appropriate
· Occasional travel to customer sites to support project delivery and system integration
What are we looking for?
Essential
· Degree (BSc or equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Experience with one or more of MATLAB, Simulink, EtherCAT/TwinCAT (Beckhoff) or familiarity with real-time systems and motion control
· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
· A proactive approach with the ability to learn new technologies quickly
· A genuine interest in engineering and technology
Desirable
· Automotive engineering experience or a strong interest in the automotive industry
· Knowledge of Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulation
· Exposure to systems engineering, verification and validation, or control systems
· Interest in vehicle dynamics, driving simulation or motion cueing
