About the position:

E Ink is seeking an R&D Engineer that can apply fundamental engineering principles to support the design, development, testing, and optimization of chemical processes and systems. The Engineer will assist senior engineers in conducting experiments, run processes, analyzing data, and implementing improvements in manufacturing, safety, quality, and efficiency, contributing to the achievement of operational and project goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle chemicals related to photolithography at lab scale.
  • Prepare thin films coatings with lab tools such as spin coaters, dip coater, laminator, and UV curing.
  • Operate sensitive lab instruments such as roll-to-roll tool and optical microscopes.
  • Make detailed observations and collect measurement data during lab procedures and communicate them to scientists daily.
  • Maintain documentation by entering data into spreadsheets, formatting tables, reviewing formulation worksheets, and updating SOPs.
  • Track lab supply inventory and place orders.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ industry experience. Newly graduated without experience is acceptable.
  • Wet bench laboratory experience required.
  • Detail-oriented laboratory professional prioritizing safety, with proven expertise in chemical laboratories and cleanroom environments, and strong chemical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Hands-on experience in chemical handling, and manual dexterity for accurate small-scale weigh outs, thin film preparation, and testing. Experience in microfabrication is a plus.
  • Familiarity with chemical and film testing methods and lab instrumentation.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in recording data using spreadsheets and databases. Ability to format large amounts of numerical data into tables and graphs is a plus.

Salary Range Disclosure The annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 not including any variable pay. The total compensation package may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other variable pay components. The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
