The opportunity
For our Technology Center in Brilon, Germany, we are looking for a Scientist or Engineer in Electrical Engineering to actively drive innovation in the development of dry‑type transformers.
In this role, you will apply your strong technical expertise to develop and optimize transformer technologies and support their implementation in a global environment. You will work closely with internal technology centers and external partners, including universities, contributing to innovative solutions that support Hitachi Energy’s long‑term success.

How you’ll make an impact
Participate in R&D projects related to the development and technology of dry‑type transformers
Develop, advance, and optimize solutions in high‑voltage engineering and dielectric systems within a global framework
Design and manufacture small prototypes for proof‑of‑concept and validation
Perform and supervise application‑oriented experiments
Conduct structured problem analyses and derive robust technical solutions
Provide scientific and technical support across projects
Contribute to the transfer and implementation of project results into operational Hitachi Energy units
Your background
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, ideally with a focus on Medium‑ or High‑Voltage Engineering and Dielectrics
Strong interest in current and future technologies related to transformers
Hands‑on, innovative mindset with a structured and analytical approach
High level of motivation, creativity, and ownership
Collaborative and communicative team player in interdisciplinary environments
