Job Description

R&D Electrical Engineer

Research & Development

Caldera Medical’s Mission - To Improve the Quality of Life for Women!

About Caldera Medical

Caldera Medical is committed to improving the quality of life for women worldwide through innovative pelvic health and neuromodulation solutions. Our growing R&D team is developing the next generation of connected device technology while continuing to advance the surgical products clinicians rely on today.

Headquartered in Westlake Village, CA, with international operations in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, Caldera combines clinical insight with engineering excellence to bring meaningful therapies to market.

The Opportunity

Want to own the electrical design of products that change women's lives — not just a single subsystem? We're looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer to lead electrical work across two product lines: Gynesis, our wearable neuromodulation platform on its way to market, and an established surgical product line already in physicians' hands.

You'll design what's next and make what's proven even better. As part of a small, collaborative R&D team, you'll have real ownership, visible impact, and a direct voice in design decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Lead component-level electrical design for new product development, partnering with external engineering resources to bring it to market.
  • Drive design improvements and design-for-manufacturing initiatives on an in-market product.
  • Define and coordinate electrical interfaces across connectors, boards, and components.
  • Collaborate with Systems and Mechanical Engineering on cross-functional design decisions.
  • Own electrical verification and validation (V&V) planning and execution.
  • Support design documentation, risk management, and IEC 60601 safety and EMC testing.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • BSEE, BSECE, or equivalent.
  • 5–7 years of hands-on electrical engineering experience; medical device experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with external design partners or vendors on component-level design.
  • Experience with design improvement or cost reduction (DFM/VAVE) and electrical V&V.
  • NMES/electrostimulation or wearable electronics experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and FDA design controls is a plus.

Don't meet every requirement? If you have strong component-level design experience and most of the above, we encourage you to apply.

Why This Role Matters

This is a chance to put your name on the electrical design of a new therapy and shape the future of a proven one. Your work will go from schematic to the women who rely on it.

Competitive Compensation, Comprehensive Benefits, and more!

  • Relocation assistance available for this role
  • Medical and Dental Benefits
  • Vision Coverage
  • 401(k) with 4% matching contributions after 90 days of employment
  • Basic Life and AD&D
  • Unlimited Vacation Policy
  • 6 Weeks Paid Maternity Leave
  • 10 paid holidays - including your birthday!
  • Being surrounded by amazing people!

(This role is being filled directly by our in-house recruiting team. We are not working with outside agencies for this position.)

Our Culture - Where Career and Passion come together!

  • A culture of family and team… not a corporate goliath where you're just another number.
  • All employees get a seat at the table and have influence with management. We care about giving back to the community. Our team donates time to helping local charities throughout Southern California.
  • The Women's Health Initiative is the heart of what we do; every day we put underprivileged women first.
  • Our goal is to treat 1 million women suffering from incontinence by 2027!
