Job Description

The Consumer & Products Insights group is hiring an Associate Manager (Level 5) to lead the definition, development and execution of consumer insight strategies to inform product development and innovation within the R&D department. The R&D Consumer & Products Insights team is responsible for leading technical efforts to serve the Duracell Global business and its customers and consumers.The position is responsible for translating consumer needs, behaviors, and trends into actionable recommendations for business growth and product advancement and may include a global scope.

The position is based in Atlanta, USA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement consumer research initiatives (qualitative and quantitative) to identify consumers’ wants and needs.
• Translate consumers and market data into technical requirements, specifications, success criteria to guide future R&D developments.
• Critically analyze complex data, e.g. market, technical and consumer data, form robust conclusions and provide actionable insights for product requirements and innovations, as well as scientific communication (claims, demos and technical product story).
• Develop and present reports, presentations, and share recommendations to senior leadership and project stakeholders.
• Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and technology advancements as well as consumer research techniques to inform project learning plans and R&D priorities.
• Build effective collaborations across multi-functional and international teams, including other Consumer Product insights members, Product Design, Marketing, and Commercial partners.
• Manage external research partners and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Champion a consumer-centric approach within the R&D department.
• Provide functional coaching/mentoring to more junior team members to build capabilities, foster continuous learning, and support professional growth.

• Bachelor’s degree required concentration in Sciences, Engineering, Psychology and/or Market Research
• Bachelor’s in Sciences or Engineering preferred
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in R&D, Market Research or consumer insights, Product owner, or related roles in CPG or Consumer electronics, is required.
• Proven track record in designing and executing research projects that drive business outcomes.
• Willingness to travel (estimated 10-15% of the time)
• Strong analytical, technical rigor and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent technical written and verbal communication adapting to stakeholders’ needs.
• Advanced proficiency in consumer research methodologies (quals, quant, online/offline ...).
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (JMP e.g) and data science experience is a big plus.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Passion for learning and for growing & coaching others.
• Project management experience and attention to detail.
• Adaptability and curiosity in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment.
• Championing technical curiosity and looking for new ways of working
• Experience with electronics and their interaction with batteries is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in AI tools is preferred.
