Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Revenue Cycle Management Director to lead all billing operations for a portfolio of behavioral health and addiction treatment facilities. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant billing, optimizing reimbursements, and driving the overall financial health of our client organizations. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in behavioral health RCM, payer rules, authorization workflows, and the unique billing challenges of substance use treatment.

What You Will Do

Leadership and Operations

  • Direct all RCM operations including eligibility, authorizations, charge capture, coding, claims submission, payments, and denials.

  • Lead a team of billing specialists, accounts receivable analysts, and authorization staff.

  • Establish and maintain performance standards, KPIs, and quality controls across all RCM functions.

  • Oversee onboarding and integration of new behavioral health clients into the billing system.

Financial Performance

  • Ensure maximum reimbursement through clean claim submission, reduced denials, and optimized payer follow up.

  • Analyze client revenue trends, aging reports, payer behavior, and collection cycles.

  • Develop action plans to improve cash flow, reduce AR days, and increase revenue capture for each client facility.

  • Partner with client leadership to provide financial insight and proactive recommendations.

Compliance and Industry Knowledge

  • Maintain deep understanding of behavioral health billing rules including ASAM levels of care, SUD treatment codes, therapy billing, IOP and PHP billing, and insurance credentialing workflows.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, payer policies, and accreditation standards.

  • Implement process improvements and technology enhancements to strengthen accuracy and efficiency.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary RCM advisor to assigned behavioral health facilities.

  • Provide regular reporting, revenue reviews, and strategic guidance to client executives.

  • Ensure client satisfaction through consistent communication and measurable financial outcomes.

What You Bring

  • Five or more years of leadership experience in Revenue Cycle Management.

  • Direct experience with behavioral health or addiction treatment billing for commercial and government payers.

  • Strong knowledge of authorizations, utilization review processes, ASAM levels of care, CPT and HCPCS codes, and behavioral health documentation requirements.

  • Proven track record of improving AR performance and driving collections.

  • Strong analytical and reporting abilities with proficiency in RCM platforms and billing systems.

  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts with accuracy and urgency.

  • Clear communication style and ability to present financial insights to senior leadership.
