
Job Objective
The Patient Care Officer is responsible for the accurate preparation and timely creation of Statements of Account (SOA) for patients, ensuring all services rendered, procedures, and related charges are properly recorded and billed. The role aims to support efficient billing operations while maintaining accuracy, completeness, and compliance with clinic or hospital billing policies.
• Prepare and generate accurate Statements of Account (SOA) for patients based on services rendered, procedures, and applicable charges.
• Ensure all patient charges are properly encoded, reviewed, and verified for completeness and accuracy.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and billing staff to confirm procedures, diagnostics, and other billable services.
• Review patient records and billing details to identify and resolve discrepancies or missing information.
• Provide clear explanations of SOA details to patients and address billing-related inquiries in a professional manner.
• Ensure timely issuance of SOA to avoid delays in billing and payment processing.
• Assist in updating patient records and maintainingaccurate documentation of billing transactions.
• Coordinate with the billing and finance team for corrections, adjustments, and account reconciliation when necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with data privacy and hospital policies.
• Support cashiering and collection functions when needed, ensuring proper handling of payments and receipts.
• Assist in patient flow coordination to ensure smooth processing of billing and procedures
• Perform other duties that may be assigned in relation to patient care and billing operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or any medical-related degree (e.g. Nursing, etc). Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. (Required)
• Preferably with experience in hospital, clinic, or healthcare billing and patient services.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, hospital processes, and basic billing procedures is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Statement of Account (SOA) preparation and patient billing systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and hospital information systems (or similar platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in encoding and reviewing patient billing information.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills in handling patient concerns.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with professionalism
