Primary Responsibilities

The Renewable Energy Certification Engineer is responsible for evaluating and certifying photovoltaic inverters, grid-connected converters, hybrid inverters, self-consumption systems… to ensure compliance with European grid codes standards (e.g NTS, VDE, CEI…)

The role involves the analysis of test and validation results and assessment of electrical behavior to verify the requirements of the European grid codes standards (as voltage fault response or power quality)

Specific Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed technical certification reports and compliance assessments for clients and certification bodies.
  • Perform technical assessment of power converters (mainly PV inverters) for compliance with grid codes and certification schemes.
  • Review and validate test reports: evaluate compliance with grid requirements: voltage control, frequency response, fault ride-through (FRT), reactive power capability etc
  • Review simulation reports to validate manufacturer dynamic models when required.
  • Apply European grid codes (e.g NTS, VDE, CEI…)
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of certification methodologies and internal technical procedures.

Requisitos

Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or other university degrees at higher level in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience is not mandatory, but one or more of the following is preferred:
    • Certification of power converters or renewable generation systems
    • Grid compliance and regulatory assessment (e.g NTS, VDE, CEI…).
    • Experience in analyzing electrical test data and preparing technical evaluations.
    • Validation of compliance reports.
    • Basic knowledge of renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, hybrid, synchronous systems).
  • Willingness to work in a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends, depending on project needs.

Required Skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English B2
  • Capability to interpret technical requirements of grid codes standards.
  • High attention to detail and rigor in technical documentation and certification reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of integrity and sense of responsibility.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in remote and multidisciplinary environments.
