The Senior Raw Material Buyer is responsible for leading both strategic and operational procurement activities for direct materials. This role ensures supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and supplier development, with a strong focus on managing international (overseas) suppliers. The position plays a critical role in supporting production and achieving business and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage procurement of raw materials to ensure timely availability for production
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with local and international (overseas) suppliers
• Lead negotiations for pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and logistics conditions
• Monitor and follow up on purchase orders to prevent supply disruptions
• Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (planning, operations, quality, finance)
• Track and evaluate supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead times)
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in raw material procurement
• Proven experience working with international (overseas) suppliers
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills
• Experience in manufacturing environments preferred

Requirements
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) – mandatory (not optional)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Availability to travel (domestic and international)

Location Requirement
• Based in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, with availability to travel as required
