Job Location MIDDLETOWN - Middletown, OHJob Shift Afternoon

Performs duties to set up and operate cutting and chamfering machines to produce tubular parts. Receives direction from Shift Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sets up, installs, and adjusts tools, collets, clamps, targets, etc. for product size, desired length and end finish, and other required characteristics.
  • Operates controls of various machines to produce tubular parts.
  • Inspects parts to verify product conforms to work order/specification requirements, including but not limited to these characteristics: size, wall thickness, length, end finish, and surface quality.
  • Segregates discrepant material from prime product.
  • Performs minor tooling maintenance as necessary.
  • Checks bundle tag to verify tubing being delivered to the machine coincides with order requirements.
  • Accurately and legibly completes product tags, production records, and inspection reports.
  • Refers concerns about tubing quality or equipment condition to Shift Supervisor.
  • Uses micrometers, calipers, chamfer check gages, length gages, and common hand tools.
  • Communicates with employees of other shifts regarding status of operations, equipment, tooling, special assignments, etc.
  • Assists maintenance repairman in repair of production machines.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
  • Various other duties as directed by the Shift Supervisor.

The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Duties and Responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTC Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.



Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Qualified as a Material Handler and Q. A. Inspector.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • 260 to 520 hours on-the-job probationary period.
  • Passing grade on job qualification exam and satisfactory demonstration of ability to perform duties of the job.
  • Complete set of necessary hand tools upon completion of probationary period.

  • Other Skills and Abilities: Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as email, ERP system, etc.
