Skills and Competencies

  • Solid accounting background (e.g., through coursework, CFA (or equivalent) required)
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage workflow effectively and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Fluency in English is required; additional European language skills are preferred, with German and Spanish particularly desirable
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use

Education

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Political Economy, International Relations, Statistics or another quantitative field
  • Ability to complete a 6-month internship commencing in January 2027

Responsibilities

Support analytical teams through research, data analysis and project work that contributes to credit analysis and research activities.

  • Participate in case studies designed to develop analytical knowledge and understanding
  • Support analytical teams with research, data and process-related projects
  • Collect and organize data and identify trends to support credit analysis activities
  • Prepare financial documents, charts and presentations for analytical and research purposes
  • Monitor media sources for developments related to assigned projects or portfolios
  • Provide analytical and research support to rating teams
  • Contribute to the development of research publications and other analytical outputs
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and initiatives as required by the team

About the Team

Our Ratings & Research Support (RRS) team is responsible for supporting the ratings and research process across Moody's analytical departments and ensuring analytical teams have the information and support they need to operate effectively. The team contributes to Moody's by supporting credit analysis activities, enabling the efficient completion of ratings and research-related work, and helping maintain the overall productivity and organization of the ratings process.
