Job Description

This role provides the opportunity to join the NA Governments Trading Desk, to work in conjunction with senior traders, research, QR, sales, and clients, to grow our franchise. The job requires a diverse skillset of critical/analytical thinking, strong risk management capabilities, understanding of financial instruments and markets, implementation of a strict control environment, and ability to work in a team setting with the partners mentioned above.

As a US Treasury Trader on the Rates Trading Team, you will make markets in primarily long end Treasury instruments and zero coupon bonds, work to optimize balance sheet exposure, and participate in all BAU aspects of the trading desk: pre-trade analysis, trade execution, hedging, and improvements to pricing and risk management infrastructure, all with a focus on extensive data and statistical analysis.

Job Responsibilities

  • Make markets in US Government Bonds ranging in maturity from 0-30y, in both whole bond and zero coupon form
  • Increase revenue for the firm by working with team members to optimize balance sheet exposure
  • Work with sales, research, clients, and a variety of other partners, both internal and external, to grow our franchise
  • Build, enhance, and help maintain, market data resources and risk management tools

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Several years of experience in a fixed income trading capacity
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Math, or related field
  • Expert Excel skills
  • Strong understanding of Global macro markets
  • Superior time management and multi-tasking skills to juggle live transactions and daily tasks
  • Maturity and the ability to succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced, and open environment

  • Python coding a strong plus
  • Highly innovative and creative mind to explore new efficiencies within the business
  • Thrives on the challenge of pressures and is able to remain focused on client needs
  • Excellent communication skills and works well with colleagues in a fast-paced environment
