This Position reports to:

Global Data Platforms Service Manager

In this role, you will be the architect of scalable, high-performance data solutions that fuel analytics and decision-making across ABB Robotics.You'lldesign and build robust data pipelines,optimizecloud data warehouses on Snowflake, and create reusable data models that transform raw business data into trusted, actionable insights. Working at the intersection of data engineering and business analytics,you'llcollaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and stakeholders across the globe to deliver reliable, well-documented data infrastructure that supports everything from real-time IoT analytics to enterprise-wide reporting. This role offers the opportunity to shape how data flows through a global robotics business and enable informed decision-making atscale.

This is a global role; the preferred locationsChina, Poland, Czech republic, Spain, Italy

Your responsibilities:

  • Design and build scalable data solutions on Snowflake that translate business requirements into optimized data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data warehouse architectures
  • Develop reusable data models and infrastructure that support analytics, reporting, machine learning model training/serving, and IoT use cases while ensuring performance, reliability, and cost optimization
  • Optimizedata extraction and integration from diverse Robotics data sources—including IoT platforms—leveragingmodern ETL/ELT tools and best practices to reduce costs and improve efficiency
  • Enable "data as product" delivery by implementing structured, organized data solutions with proper governance, access controls, and documentation that empower business stakeholders
  • Provide technical consultation to businessand IS teams on technology selection, architecture decisions, and best practices forboth backend data solutions (databases, data pipelines, machine learning infrastructure) and frontend visualization tools.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
  • 3+ years of hands-on data analytics and engineering experience, including data modelling, ETL/ELT development, data warehousing, and SQL optimization
  • Advanced SQLproficiency(ISO standards) anddemonstratedexpertisewith modern data extraction tools (ADF, Qlik Replicate, SSIS, or equivalent)
  • Snowflake experience orstrong foundationin cloud data warehousing platforms; understanding of big data and machine learning concepts
  • Solid knowledge of BI tools (Power BI / MS Fabric preferred) and experience with data visualization and analytics frontend development
  • Proficiencyin C# or similar backend programming languages for data integration, ETL orchestration, and service development
  • Experience with or knowledge of SAP/S4HANA data extraction and integration, ordemonstratedability to quickly learn enterprise ERP systems
  • Fluent in English withstrong communicationskills, excellent documentation practices, and a customer-oriented mindset

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with machine learning pipelines, model deployment, or ML-driven analytics
  • Deep knowledge of SAP/S4HANA modules (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing) or SAP data extraction tools
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • DevOps or data pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow, Databricks, Azure Synapse)
  • Background in manufacturing,logistics, or robotics industries
