He angitūtanga | About the role

One position based at Marfells Beach and one based at Rarangi Campgrounds within the South Marlborough District. These are hands-on roles where you'll help maintain campground facilities, provide excellent customer service to visitors, and contribute to the day-to-day operation of two stunning coastal campgrounds. You'll enjoy working outdoors, solving problems independently, and being part of a small team dedicated to creating safe and enjoyable visitor experiences.

Your work will include:

  • Support the day-to-day operation of the campground, including opening, closing, and general site maintenance.
  • Welcome visitors and provide friendly assistance with bookings, both online and in person.
  • Clean and maintain campground amenities, including ablution blocks and shared visitor facilities.
  • Identify, monitor, and report maintenance issues, hazards, and facility damage.
  • Help ensure compliance with campground rules while delivering a positive and enjoyable visitor experience.
  • Work closely with the Principal Ranger and wider Heritage and Visitor team to support campground operations and visitor services.

If you have some of the following, we'd love to hear from you:

  • Experience in a similar role, including cleaning and maintaining campground, visitor, or recreational facilities.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with a wide range of visitors.
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative, and solve problems effectively.
  • Comfortable working in remote or isolated environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team.
  • Experience monitoring water supplies and septic systems (desirable).
  • A strong commitment to health and safety.
  • Confidence using technology, or a willingness to learn booking and point-of-sale systemsSelf-motivated with a positive attitude and a good sense of humour.
  • Full New Zealand driver's licence.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
