Railroad Field Supervisor

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Starting Salary: $64,000/year — higher salary available depending on experience

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Railroad Field Supervisor to coordinate crews and oversee field work involving railcar repair, derailment response, load adjustment and transfer, and track maintenance and construction.

This position combines field leadership with hands-on operations. The Supervisor will help keep crews safe and productive while ensuring work is completed according to FRA, DOT, and applicable safety requirements.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate daily assignments and direct field crews.
• Conduct safety meetings and reinforce proper PPE and safe work practices.
• Monitor field activities to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
• Participate in hands-on work and operate heavy equipment when needed.
• Oversee railcar repair, derailment response, load transfer, and track-related projects.
• Communicate with customers, regulatory agencies, and field personnel.
• Complete payroll, equipment usage, and project reports accurately and on time.
• Train, coach, and provide performance feedback to team members.
• Develop job quotes based on labor, equipment, and logistics requirements.
• Inspect equipment and help maintain operational readiness.
• Ensure field operations follow FRA, DOT, and safety regulations.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of railroad industry experience.
• Knowledge of DOT, FRA, and workplace safety regulations.
• Previous experience leading or supervising field crews.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Experience operating heavy equipment, including cranes and excavators.
• Ability to read and interpret load charts.
• Understanding of rigging practices and requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
• Valid driver's license.
• CDL Class A or B preferred.

Work Requirements

• Outdoor work in changing weather conditions.
• Frequent travel and overnight stays.
• Physically demanding field work, including walking on uneven terrain and lifting.
• Extended hours may be required based on project and emergency response needs.
