We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team and lead quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement efforts within our railcar repair operation. This role is ideal for an experienced quality professional who is passionate about safety, compliance, customer satisfaction, and developing high-performing teams.

What You’ll Do:

As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and strengthening the site's quality assurance program while ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and company standards. You will serve as a key leader in driving quality performance, employee development, audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.

On any given day, you will:

  • Lead and manage the site's Quality Assurance program to ensure compliance with AAR, FRA, OSHA, EPA, customer, and company requirements.
  • Oversee and develop Quality Control Inspectors while promoting a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, certifications, recertifications, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Perform facility inspections, final railcar inspections, and documentation reviews to ensure compliance requirements are met.
  • Lead root cause analyses, corrective action programs, and non-conformance investigations to improve product quality and reduce rework.
  • Maintain employee qualification records, training programs, certifications, equipment calibrations, and compliance documentation.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Engineering, Human Resources, and Materials teams to support operational excellence.
  • Build strong customer relationships and coordinate responses to customer and regulatory findings.
  • Monitor quality performance metrics and implement improvement initiatives that enhance compliance, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking a quality-focused leader who has a strong understanding of regulatory compliance, quality systems, employee development, and industrial operations.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, repair, or quality-focused environment.
  • Experience managing quality programs, audits, compliance initiatives, and corrective action processes.
  • Strong understanding of root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and quality management principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently while balancing multiple competing priorities.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Railcar, tank car, heavy industrial, manufacturing, or repair industry experience.
  • NDT certifications and/or experience with VT Level II/CWI, UT/UTT Level II, RVI Level II, PT, BT, or MT certifications.
  • Experience with AAR, FRA, customer, and rail-industry regulatory compliance programs.
  • Previous leadership and employee development experience.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Leads and develops Quality Control Inspectors.
  • Provides coaching, training, and performance feedback to quality personnel.
  • Partners with facility leadership on employee development, performance management, and corrective action activities.

Site Specific Details:

  • Location: 16923 Beaumont Highway, Houston, Texas 77049
  • Shift: Primarily First Shift with flexibility into off-shifts; Monday – Friday 6:00am – 4:30pm
  • Compensation: $95,000 - $115,000

Work Environment:

  • Significant time spent in an active railcar repair and industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to noise, moving equipment, varying temperatures, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, and performing shop-floor inspections throughout the facility.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, work boots, and respirators as required.
