Your Opportunity

Queensland Rail has an opportunity to join our Training and Development Team in the role of Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Program Adviser

  • Permanent full-time
  • Brisbane location

In this role, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage Contractor Training Panel KPIs and provide guidance on Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Program requirements. Drawing on your stakeholder engagement skills, analytical thinking and competency management system expertise, you will play a key role in delivering a critical national program and shaping a capable, compliant and future-ready rail workforce.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conduct assurance activities for reporting obligations for Queensland Rail’s external contractor training panel contracts.
  • Monitor and support the contractor competency management system, tackling queries and providing guidance to stakeholders.
  • Build and manage relationships with external stakeholders and training providers, ensuring effective service delivery and a smooth operational flow.
  • Deliver and coach the RIW System training for internal users.
  • Set up access for RIW System administrators and RIW mobile application users and provide advice to ensure system consistency across all platforms.
  • Provide high-level administrative support for the RIW Program, RIW System, and external training panel.
  • Get involved in specialist People, Wellbeing and Sustainability & Training and Development tasks/projects as required.  

About You:

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is ready to make an impact.  The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on contract management, including financial obligations and first-line assurance activities across panel providers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience managing contract KPI reporting, analysing data, and using advanced MS Excel skills to identify trends with a compliance focus.
  • Well-developed relationship-building skills for effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify challenges, analyse underlying causes, implement effective solutions, and drive continuous business improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Demontrated organisational skills and ability to work autonomously.

Additional advantage if you have:

  • Experience with Rail Industry Worker system or learning management systems is highly desirable.
  • MS Excel and MS Power Automate experience for reporting purposes.
