We have an opportunity foraRadiologyTechnologistinourOrthoCarolinaSpineoffice This position is scheduled to work 32 hours per week with a Monday–Thursday schedule.
TheRadiology Technologistwillprovidediagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants while protecting employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and usage ofappropriate protectionstandards.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrates competency in positioning of all radiological proceduresas prescribed bydepartmental policy.
Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients'understandingand address any questions or concerns.
Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and providespatientwith radiation protection and safetyin accordance withprescribed methods.
Logsradiological procedures completed,processescharges and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms andstocksnecessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department. Compliance with allOrthoCarolinapolicyand procedures.
Assistswith the transportation of patients between the examination module(s) and the Radiology department.Assistwith patient flow in the examination module(s) as directed by a supervisor.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability tooperatevarious manufacturer types of Radiology suite equipment, (i.e.Siemens/GE/Philips).
Skill in proficient use of various manufacturer types of Digital Radiology (DR) and Computer Radiology (CR) reader systems.
Skill inidentifyingequipment problems and correcting or notifyingsupervisor
Skill in positioning patients properly and performing quality diagnostic radiographs.
Observes safety and security procedures.
Qualifications
Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association.
Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background.
Professional license or certification requirements:
Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) or ARRT registry eligible.
