At Meritus Health’s Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging Services (DIS) clinic, timely and accurate imaging is essential to rapid diagnosis and treatment. As a Radiologic Technologist in this outpatient setting, you’ll perform a wide range of diagnostic radiology procedures for patients of all ages presenting with acute injuries and illnesses. You’ll work closely with providers to deliver high‑quality images that support immediate clinical decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
This position is also designed as a cross‑training opportunity for individuals who wish to obtain their ARRT (MRI) certification within one year. The selected candidate will participate in a structured MRI training pathway, including supervised clinical scans, competency development, MRI safety education, and completion of the required clinical scan log needed to sit for the ARRT (MRI) exam. This role provides hands‑on exposure, mentorship from experienced MRI technologists, and a clear pathway toward transitioning into MRI practice upon successful certification.

Perform radiographic procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
Operate and maintain digital radiography equipment with competence and care
Prepare exam rooms, organize supplies, and maintain clean, safe radiographic areas
Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures clearly, and assist other staff members as needed
Obtain and document clinical information from patients accurately
Observe patients and equipment during procedures, reporting any unusual occurrences immediately
Record pertinent patient information in QA logs, electronic systems, and reports
Serve as a resource to other staff, offering guidance and support as needed
Assist with outpatient medical assisting duties (e.g., vitals, medical history documentation) when appropriate and after demonstrated competency

Participate in structured MRI cross‑training designed to prepare for ARRT (MRI) certification within one year of hire
Complete required clinical scan logs, competencies, and supervised MRI procedures
Work alongside MRI technologists to gain proficiency in MRI safety, workflow, and imaging protocols
Demonstrate progressive skill development toward independent MRI practice
Completion of an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent required
One year of experience as a radiographer preferred
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
Licensure by the State of Maryland as a Radiologic Technologist required
Current BLS (CPR) certification in compliance with Meritus Health policy
