As Radiology Supervisor, you will direct theCT Technologistsand Radiology Assistants in the Cat Scan areaand support them in duties involving patient care, radiologyproceduresand safety. You will practice and ensure promotion of behavior that meets and exceeds patient needs and expectations and support of the Cleveland Clinic Mission, Vision, and Values. 70% of your day will consist ofhands onpatient care, while the other 30% will beadministrative responsibilities such as staffing, compliance and regulatory tasks andtroubleshooting equipment issues No matter where you serve within the hospital, your work plays a vital role in providing the experience our patients have come to expect from Cleveland Clinic. As you work to improve your team and enhance the department, you will directly change the lives of patients and their families every day.

A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 4:30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Review radiographs to ensureoptimumquality for interpretation.

  • Provide assistanceand assume responsibility of Radiology Manager in their absence, function as a staff technologist as needed and perform front desk secretarial and film library responsibilities.

  • Provide necessary support to staff tomaintaina repeat rate of 3% or less.

  • Ensure all technical data is input into computer by staff ina timelyandaccuratemanner, including follow-up with daily incomplete work reports (technical and clinical),accurateentry of non-procedural charges,additionalexamsand daily log charge report.

  • Deliver documentation and counseling of Technologists, students and supporting personnel assigned with regards to discipline, work ethics, conduct, attendance, payroll responsibilities (Site Specific)and other related matters.

  • Deliver yearly employee evaluations and provide input into character and job performance.

  • Ensure staffmaintainclinical competence by performing training and orientation of new employees.

  • Establish andmaintaindepartment schedules, call, daily, monthly, holiday and takecallwhen necessary.

  • Maintain a procedure manual, including protocols and techniques for each procedure.

  • Maintain complianceofcredentialing bodies (ACR, Medicare, Medicaid) and policies/procedures required by local state or federal laws.

  • Ensure equipment calibration and maintenance.

  • Assess patient readiness and need for learning,determinethe bestmethodologyto deliver education and receive verbalfeedbackand/or returndemonstrationtovalidatelearning.

  • Provide verbal and/or written instructions for tests/procedures,diagnosesand discharge whenappropriate

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology

  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(ARRT) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, RDMS, through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers OR Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board: C.N.M.T. dependent on modality

  • Current state licensure dependent on modality

  • Certification in Computed Tomography (CT): R.T.(R)(CT)(ARRT)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross

  • Demonstratedproficiencyin operation of imaging equipment, computer skills,communicationand interpersonal skills with all customer groups in a fast-paced environment

  • Three years of patient care delivery

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • One year of supervisory experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift or assist with patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
  • Finger dexterity to manipulate hand/eye coordination for PC operation daily. Wrist and hand/wrist repetitions to manipulate equipment and/or PC operation daily.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time; must lift and carry items weighting up to 50 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
