The University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC) is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our Diagnostic Radiology team in a full‑time, outpatient procedural role. In this position you will work closely with a large group of radiologists and provide hands‑on clinical care that directly supports MSK, Fluoroscopy, and Ultrasound services.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with radiologists across MSK, Fluoroscopy, and Ultrasound divisions to support smooth procedural workflow.

  • Perform clinic‑based procedures such as joint injections and other therapeutic injections.

  • Evaluate patients independently, develop treatment plans, and manage pre‑ and post‑procedure care.

  • Conduct histories and physicals, review imaging, and complete documentation.

  • Participate in select radiology‑guided procedures.

  • Contribute to efficient coordination of outpatient radiology procedural services.

Schedule

  • 1.0 FTE, full‑time (40 hours/week)

  • Day/evening shifts (10–12 hours)

  • No weekends and no call

Candidate Requirements & Experience

  • Experienced PA with a strong background in hands‑on clinical work

  • Not open to new graduates at this time

Procedural Competence (Required):

  • IV placement

  • Injections

  • Minor procedures

  • Independent patient management

  • Ability to practice with confidence and autonomy in a procedural setting.

Interest in Expanding Procedural Scope within Radiology:

  • Joint injections

  • Thyroid biopsies

  • Fluoroscopy‑related tasks

Education

PA:Completion of an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved program (prior to January 2001 – Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs). Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
