Job Description

Associate Sales Representative (ASR)

Breast & Skeletal Health – Imaging

Location: New Orleans, LA Reports To: Regional Sales Manager

At Hologic, we’re an innovative medical technology company that enables healthier lives everywhere, every day. We are also a company that prospers and grows, which is why we’ve been able to expand our offerings to empower even more people and champion women’s health.

What powers our growth across Breast & Skeletal Health, Diagnostics, and GYN Surgical Solutions is also what differentiates us: the exceptional and clinically proven capacity of our products to detect, diagnose, and treat illnesses and other health conditions early and with confidence. Our performance creates high expectations, which we fulfill by continually challenging ourselves to improve health through better technology, education, and market access.

None of this would be possible without the talent and passion of our employees. Together, our expertise and dedication to developing and sharing more robust, science-based certainty drives our global presence and a promising pipeline that responds to the unmet health and wellness needs of women, families, and communities.

Position Overview

As an Associate Sales Representative (ASR) on the Breast & Skeletal Health Imaging team, you will play an essential role in supporting quota achievement and driving growth across the region’s capital, disposable, and service portfolio. Working closely with Account Executives, Clinical Account Managers (CAMs), and the Regional Sales Manager, you will assist in developing and executing territory business plans, provide product demonstration and account support, drive product and service contract utilization and growth, and build the clinical, commercial, and financial skills required to advance into an Account Executive role.

The ASR will be based in New Orleans, LA and will primarily support that territory, with flexibility to support other territories within the region or outside the region, as business needs dictate.

This is a developmental position. Over a defined two-to-three-year period, the ASR will progress by seeking guidance, mentorship and owning their development in preparation for them to independently own a territory. Advancement to Account Executive is based on demonstrated performance and business need, and the resulting territory opportunity may be located anywhere in the United States. For that reason, willingness and ability to relocate nationally is a condition of this role.

What to Expect Sales Support & Promotion

  • Assist Account Executives in driving growth across all products and aspects of the portfolio, including but not limited to Capital, Software, Disposable, and Service product lines.
  • Support the development and execution of selling strategies and business plans that exceed quota and maximize Hologic’s market share within the region.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, evaluations, and case coverage to showcase the value and functionality of Hologic solutions in clinical settings.
  • Present Hologic’s value proposition to stakeholders at all levels, including radiologists, surgeons, technologists, administrators, and supply chain.
  • Support capital projects through the full sales cycle: site assessments, configuration and quoting support, evaluation logistics, installation coordination, and post-sale follow-through.

Customer Engagement & Education

  • Build trusted relationships with key customer contacts and decision makers, uncovering and creating needs at the account level.
  • Educate healthcare professionals on the proper use, features, and benefits of Hologic products through in-services, on-site support, and account calls to drive account independence.
  • Support the development of in-field training programs for regional centers of excellence and develop close working relationships with course directors and facilities.

Territory & Funnel Management

  • Strategically plan the week, month, and quarter to support the region’s plan to insulate and grow business to meet corporate revenue goals.
  • Maintain sales funnel hygiene: track activity, analyze trends, and support accurate forecasting using CRM tools.
  • Share market feedback on the competitive landscape, customer trends, and product performance with the regional team.
  • Leverage the internal resource team across Clinical, Sales, Service, Technology, and National Accounts to optimize customer experience.

Professional Development & Career Path

  • Attend all corporate training, sales meetings, conventions, and in-field development courses.
  • Complete a structured development plan with defined milestones across product knowledge, clinical proficiency, funnel management, capital selling, and negotiation.
  • Seek mentorship and feedback from Account Executives, the Regional Sales Manager, and internal partners to grow into a fully independent selling role.
  • Progress toward promotion to Account Executive within a targeted two-to-three-year window, contingent on performance and territory availability anywhere in the United States.

What We Expect

  • Bachelor’s degree required; scientific, biomedical, business, or marketing discipline preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in medical sales, B2B sales, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to navigate complex customer opportunities.
  • Developing business and financial acumen with a desire to master capital sales cycles and negotiation.
  • Exceptional listening, interpersonal, and communication skills, including written and oral presentations.
  • A can-do attitude and sense of urgency, with a track record of success in prior roles.
  • Unwavering ethics, integrity, and professionalism in a competitive and demanding environment.
  • Willingness and ability to relocate anywhere in the United States for promotion to Account Executive is required.
  • Since this position requires you to drive extensively during the work day, a valid driving license and driving record satisfactory to the Company, as well as a serviceable vehicle available for work use, is mandatory. Overnight travel required 50–75% (depending on territory and regional support needs). Occasional air travel is required as well.

Physical requirements:

  • Medium work: Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
  • Coordination of eye, hand, and foot movement for product handling and demonstrations.
  • Ability to meet cognitive demands, including visual and auditory discrimination, reading ability, and memory retention.

Additional Details

The total target compensation for this role is $150,000, including a base salary, plus an annual bonus tied to territory/regional/area quota attainment.
