Practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice as well as within a client and family centred care model and the vision and values of the department across the Lower Mainland Medical Imaging (LMMI) health authorities (Fraser Health, Providence Health Care, Provincial Health Services and Vancouver Coastal Health). Position works in a team based environment and is responsible for the supervision and coordination of technical and staffing activities of assigned area. Oversees the quality of technical work performed, participates in recruitment and performance management and coaches and orientates team members. Updates and standardizes policy and procedure manuals, compiles financial and statistical reports and responds to enquiries. Facilitates and coordinates research and development projects, participates in the management of computerized information systems. Performs technical/special procedures when required. QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Certification with the CAMRT. Completion of an advanced specialty program in Computed Tomography. Completion of an intravenous therapy training course when required by site practice. A minimum of four (4) years' recent, related experience including experience in radiology procedures and one (1) year supervisory and leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Positions located at BC Children’s Hospital require a minimum of five (5) years’ recent, related experience including two (2) years’ pediatric experience and experience in radiology procedures, as well as two (2) years’ supervisory and leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesDemonstrated knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners established by the CAMRT and/or other relevant national professional associations.Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice.Demonstrated knowledge of organization policies, procedures and standards of care, including practice of safe work procedures with modality equipmentDemonstrated knowledge of research process and methodology.Demonstrated knowledge of PACS/Radiology Information Systems.Demonstrated ability to function as an effective leader, motivator, facilitator and team member.Demonstrated ability to teach, demonstrate, facilitate, coach and mentor staff.Demonstrated ability to develop procedure protocols and manuals.Demonstrated ability to promote an evidence based practice and a culture of creativity and enquiry.Demonstrated ability to develop project plans and implement new projects.Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) and deal effectively with clients and their families, coworkers, physicians, other health care staff, and staff of external agencies.Demonstrated ability to deal with and/or guide others in resolution of conflict issues.Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize work.Demonstrated skill in modality specific techniques and the use of applicable equipment and supplies.Demonstrated skill in CPR techniques.Ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications.Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

CT certification required. Experience with Diagnostic Accreditation Program an asset.
