Our Radiology Diagnostic department provides comprehensive imaging services, including X-rays and fluoroscopy. These diagnostic tools are essential foraccuratediagnosis and treatment planning.
Radiological TechnologistProvides health care services applying pulsed x-ray energy toassistwithdiagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, computerprocessingand related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service andmaintainsa demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditionstoprovideappropriate patientcare to ensure successful completion of the exam orprocedure.
Performs high-quality diagnostic imaging examsin accordance withphysician orders and established protocols.
Verifies patient identity, medical history, and exam information while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and proper positioning throughout procedures.
Applies radiation safety standards, including ALARA principles, for patients, staff, and self during all imaging procedures.
Produces and manages diagnostic images, ensuringaccuratedocumentation and image archiving within PACS and the electronic health record (EHR).
Administers contrast materials and performs peripheral venipuncture whenindicatedwhile monitoring patients for adverse reactions or changes in condition.
Performs equipment quality control,reportsmalfunctions or safety concerns, andmaintainsdepartment supplies and readiness.
Collaborates with Radiologists, Nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to support efficient patient flow and scheduling.
Supports accreditation, compliance, staff training, and adherence to hospital policies, infection control, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
Graduateofan Accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
Current Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (KBMIRT) Licenserequired
Must obtain American Heart Association BLS certification within30 daysof hire if not current upon hire.
Must obtain andmaintainAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography (RT(R)) within 1 year of hire.
