About the Role

The primary purpose of the Radiological Technician I position is to provide x-ray services for inpatients and outpatients of the University Hospital. Performs radiographic procedures and other functions related to the production of x-rays of accurate and diagnostic radiographs for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment throughout the performance of his/her duties and maintains a demeanor that supports the values and mission of The University Hospital. Contributes and functions as a cohesive member of the department, ensuring that all interaction with patients, physicians, nurses, administrators, and other members of the hospital staff are professional and in accordance with the established guidelines of the institution. Performs procedures in compliance with NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) standards and the principals of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA).

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

    • Provide high-quality diagnostic x-ray services to both inpatient and outpatient populations at University Hospital
    • Perform radiographic procedures accurately and efficiently to support interpretation by licensed practitioners
    • Apply professional judgment and uphold a respectful, patient-centered demeanor aligned with the mission and values of University Hospital
    • Collaborate effectively as a team member with patients, physicians, nurses, administrators, and hospital staff
    • Ensure all interactions and procedures follow established hospital policies and professional standards
    • Perform all radiologic procedures in compliance with NJDEP regulations and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) radiation safety principles

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

    • Must possess a current New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Diagnostic Radiography license and current ARRT certification, or be ARRT-eligible
    • One (1) year of experience in Diagnostic Radiology preferred
    • Computer literate
    • Will be trained to become proficient in Bone Density (DEXA) scans
    • Must maintain current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification
    • Must be able to pass a medical evaluation and respirator fit test
    • Required to wear an N95 particulate filter respirator in accordance with PEOSHA standards as a condition of employment
    • Annual respirator fit testing required

Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)

The expected hourly pay range for this position is outlined below, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law. Final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

  • TT/2360 (0–2 years of experience):Probationary Rate: $33.83Job Rate: $34.332-Year Rate: $35.36

  • TT/2460 (2–5 years of experience):Probationary Rate: $36.03Job Rate: $36.532-Year Rate: $37.62

  • TT/2560 (5+ years of experience):Probationary Rate: $37.39Job Rate: $37.892-Year Rate: $39.03
