The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants with the examination and treatment ofChristianaCare-GoHealthUrgent Care patients. This roleis responsible forproviding a variety of technical procedures and applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis for ourChristianaCare-GoHealthUrgent Care patients. This roleis responsible forperforming patientx-rays and reporting results to Medical Providersfor analysis,diagnosisand treatmentAdditionalresponsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation ofChristianaCare-GoHealthUrgent Care Centers. In a collaborative manner, the Radiologic Technologist will provide support to Medical Providers, Medical Assistants, and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management,organizationand communication
Team Membershired intotheRTNew Grad Bridge program will be in a short-termtransitional position designed for recent graduates of an accredited Radiologic Technology program who are awaiting state licensure and/or registration. During thisperiod of time,theRTBridgewill supportpatient care andclinic operations by performing approved clinical and administrative duties within the scope of their current credentials and organizational policies.They will be hired into a Medical Assistant position to start, working alongside licensed Radiologic Technologists,andwill support patient care operationsanddevelop familiarity with radiology workflows and clinical processes to prepare them for independent practice upon licensure, as permitted by the scope of their credentials and Company policies Upon successful completion of all required licensing, registration, andCompanycredentialing requirements, theywill be eligible and expected to transition into a Radiologic Technologist role,commensuratewith a pay increase
Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of an accreditedRadiologic Technology programrequired
High School Diploma or equivalent required
CPOE must be obtained within 2 weeks of hireif Medical Assistant Certification is not obtained upon hireor if the candidate does not have an active Medical Assistant Certification.
Work Experience
Experience in a clinical setting preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS)requiredat the time of hire (obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registrationrequiredwithin 90 days of start date
Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologistrequiredwithin90 daysof start date
Essential Functions
Conduct patient registration, which includes securing required paperwork and insurance documentation, and verification of insurance and patient eligibility
Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments for assignedcenter
Coordinate provider referrals to assigned Specialist.
Answer patient questions regarding their care and keep them informed of their status.
Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, record medical history; confirm purpose of visit;
Perform preliminary physical test (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalate critical cases toprovideras needed
Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information toprovider
Responsible for stocking supplies and maintenance of exam rooms, front desk, and reception area; ensure providers have medical supplies needed.
Responsible for completing order sheets tomaintainsupply inventory levels; regularly checkexpirationdates on supplies.
Responsible for maintenance of medical records and scanning charts to patient files.
Answer phone calls, collect and sort daily incoming and outgoing postal correspondence
Ensure reception is well maintained
Conduct courtesycall-backsfor patient follow-up.
Perform opening and closing duties, whichincludescashing out, end-of-day communication, and securing the building.
Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment;maintainQuality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, andsubmitrepair tickets as needed
All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing including body mechanicsand patient movement.
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

Strong organizational and planning skills
Proficiencyin MS Office and patient management software
