
The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Oklahoma (OU) College of Pharmacy seeks a full-time seasoned radiochemist and/or a molecular imaging scientist at the rank of Associate or Full Professor (tenure-eligible/tenure track). Responsibilities include active participation in clinical, research, and educational endeavors with the possibility of appointment at a leadership level.
The OU College of Pharmacy is part of the comprehensive academic research-intensive University of Oklahoma Health comprised of six professional Colleges (Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Allied Health, and Public Health) and a Graduate College. As part of its long-term commitment to education, patient care and research productivity, the College of Pharmacy is establishing a cyclotron facility housed within a historically successful nuclear pharmacy operation. To advance this project, the college is looking to hire a senior professional with a strong background in radiopharmaceutical research, preferably in the translational realm.
Qualified candidates should have experience in diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine and a strong track record in scholarship, education, and research. They should also have a commitment to teaching future pharmacists and to developing a career in an academic environment. The successful candidate will utilize the new cyclotron facility to develop a collaborative overarching program that will promote interdisciplinary research as well satisfy the clinical need of new radiopharmaceuticals. They will advance new molecular imaging and radiotheranostics research and establish collaborations with clinicians and/or scientists in areas of neuroscience, cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular, and/or metabolic diseases via molecular imaging applications. The candidate is also expected to be involved in teaching and mentoring PharmD students, graduate students and junior faculty.
