HOURS: Various days/hours as needed.
The Radiation Therapist administers radiation treatments, monitors patient response, and ensures accurate and safe delivery of prescribed therapy.
Proton experience strongly preferred.
The Radiation Therapist
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required.
Experience: Must have knowledge/experience in nursing principles and theory, skills in applying adult learning principles, assessment and evaluation skills, skills in interpreting complex data, knowledge of evidence-based nursing, Joint Commission accreditation standards, and Virginia nursing licensure requirements. Must have strong oral and written communication skills, project management skills, time management skills, organizational skills, training skills, customer service skills, and strong follow up skills. Must be able to think critically, be creative and have the ability to take initiative to improve processes. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Must be a team player. Must have a minimum of 3 years of current acute care/PCU level experience as an LPN Must have passion for teaching staff and a desire to stay competent in nursing skills.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Currently licensed as Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or new graduate of approved program eligible to sit for the Virginia licensure exam. AHA BLS-HCP required and must be maintained. May be required to obtain/maintain, ACLS, PALS, NRP based on specific work unit. Life Support: n/a.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records. Must be able to meet essential job functions.

Compensation Range:
$36.87 - $55.31
Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
