A caregiver in this position worksPRNfrom800am –430pm.


A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Determineand deliverappropriate patienttreatment plans in collaboration with physicians and dosimetrists.

  • Monitor and documentpatient'scondition and report any adverse reactions.

  • Assess and educate patients according to specific department protocols.

  • Position patients and select anatomic/technical parameters accurately.

  • Check and adjust necessary equipment, including linearaccelerator


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate of a CAHEA approved School of Radiation TherapyTechnology or registry eligible

  • Registered Radiation Therapist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist[R.T.(R)(T)(ARRT)]in good standing.

  • Current state licensure as a Radiation Therapist

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare ProviderCertification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or the American Red Cross

  • Experience with radiation oncology specific electronic medical records


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Experience with externalRadiationTherapy, IMRT, IGRT and CT simulation

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping, reaching and lifting.

  • Requires ability to lift materials weighing up to 35 lbs.

  • Requires ability to push/pull over 100 lbs.

  • Requires dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions.

  • Requires Safe Operating Procedure for x-ray generating equipment.

  • Requires ability to work the hours of operation - flexible.

  • Requires ability to take "call" on weekdays and weekends based on a rotational schedule.

  • Requires ability to float to other CCHS facilities when needed.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
