What You’ll Do
• Deliver safe, accurate radiation therapy treatments in accordance with established treatment plans and clinical protocols
• Perform CT simulations and daily treatment setup with a high level of independence and attention to detail
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists, and dosimetrists to ensure optimal treatment delivery and patient safety
• Contribute to quality assurance, safety initiatives, and continuous process improvement efforts
• Support a culture of professional development, including mentoring students or newer therapists as appropriate

Certificate, Associate, or Bachelor's Degree in Radiation Therapy.
Additional Qualifications
No minimum experience level set. Therapist may be a new graduate. Therapist must be able to use or learn all computer systems and equipment in the department(i.e. ARIA record and verify system, VARIAN linear accelerators, GE CT Simulator, Elekta Gamma Knife and HDR). Demonstrates ability to ensure quality images (KV, MV, and CBCT) are obtained and accurately analyzes for proper alignment and precise treatment delivery. Three months of on-the-job training may be necessary to become familiar with specific department procedures and operations. Must be able to tolerate frequent stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting as required, when moving patient or equipment during treatment. Due to nature of work, good interpersonal skills and sensitivity are necessary. Must be able to work with patients and their families when dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
License or Certification
Applicants must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy, or be registry eligible to sit for the exam. Licensure by the state of Florida Department of HRS in Radiation Therapy Technology is required. Continuing educational hours are required to maintain the registered status for the State of Florida and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
