Radiation Protection TechnicianWe are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Radiation Protection Technician to join our Environmental Remediation team. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and compliance of our operations with radiation protection standards and regulations. As a Radiation Protection Technician, you will be responsible for conducting radiation surveys, monitoring work environments, and ensuring that all safety protocols are adhered to. You will work closely with various departments to assess radiation exposure levels and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks. In addition to fieldwork, you will be involved in data analysis and reporting, helping to develop safety training programs and procedures. This position requires a strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a commitment to upholding safety standards in all aspects of your work. This role is based out of Port Hope, Ontario.
Conduct regular radiation surveys and monitoring of work environments to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Maintain and calibrate radiation detection equipment to ensure accuracy in measurements.
Prepare detailed reports on radiation levels and safety compliance assessments.
Assist in the development and implementation of radiation safety training programs for staff.
Provide support in risk assessments related to radiation exposure and emergency response planning.
Respond to and investigate any incidents involving radiation exposure, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
