Job Description

We are looking for an experienced electronics technician to support the RADAR engineering team.

The technician will aid the engineering team in the prototyping, design, and testing of solid-state radar systems, as well as traveling to the field to install and diagnose issues with new product prototypes.

This team is responsible for the design, the builds, and operating of solid state, data-fusion-based radar and perception systems and fully integrated solutions designed for the aerospace and defense markets.

Essential Functions:

• Assist engineering and coordinate with internal teams on a variety of products and processes, including: engineering specifications, drawings, models, manuals, processes, or bill of materials.

• Interact with customers to install, monitor, troubleshoot, or repair radar systems.

• Research, investigate, and select technical data pertaining to the assigned project.

• Work with internal teams and external sources to obtain and communicate data relative to engineering requirements.

• May be involved in the bid process.

• Write test plans, conduct tests, and document results.

• Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations on projects.

• Participate in department improvement activities.

• Lead or participate in department improvement activities.

• Perform troubleshooting to look for areas of opportunity, as well as compliance and implementation issues.

• Develop, research, and recommend test procedures.

• With Engineering assistance, facilitate minor design projects from the concept stage through production, and make modifications as necessary.

• Responsible for defining technical approaches and tasks related to activities and minor projects.

• Progressively increases contributions and impact to the team and projects.

• Lead assigned projects, with limited engineering assistance from the concept stage through production, and make modifications as necessary.

• Innovative in nature, and contributes to new product ideas.

• May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.

• Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in field related to specific position is required.

• 5+ years experience in a related position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Specific skills, proficiencies, and knowledge in field related to position, as identified by department leadership.

• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques is preferred.

• Basic problem analysis and problem solving techniques.

• Demonstrated leadership abilities.

• Capable of defining appropriate approaches and solutions. Able to define critical project criteria to ensure project completion.

• Well-developed problem analysis and problem-solving techniques.

• Ability to lead other Technicians.

• Exercises independent judgment with broadly defined practices and policies in obtaining results.

• Proficiency with a computer, including Microsoft Office.

• Team player who is self-motivated, and has ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Ability to work at a fast pace efficiently.

• Ability to read drawings and work instructions, and maintain accurate records.

• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.

• Travel 25-50%.
