We are seeking a highly experienced Radar Software IPT Lead to execute and lead radar software engineering activities for the development of an advanced radar system. This role is both technical and managerial in nature — the selected candidate will guide a team of software engineers in the development of software to meet customer requirements and specifications while ensuring adherence to cost and schedule constraints. The role requires deep understanding of radar and signal processing software as well as proficiency in project/program management concepts.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and staff multiple small software teams in software development activities.

  • Support advanced technology radar software development, testing, delivery, and deployment.

  • Promote and implement agile software development processes.

  • Estimate schedules based on agile team velocity.

  • Track team progress and costs using EVM techniques.

  • Present team progress and status to internal and external stakeholders.

  • CONUS deployment of advanced sensor systems

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field and 12-15 years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated experience leading software engineering teams on complex DoW programs.

  • Demonstrated experience accurately estimating the engineering effort associated with software engineering tasks and tracking progress via an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).

  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and application of good software engineering practices and processes.

  • Experience leading a software team and being responsible for executing a scope of work within a project.

  • Ability to create design documentation, requirements specifications, and other technical documentation.

  • Good communication skills for working in a highly collaborative environment and interfacing with customers and other stakeholders.

  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL, area. This is NOT a remote or work-from-home position.

  • Must be a US citizen, possess an active Top-Secret clearance or

able to obtain and maintain a TOP-SECRET clearance.

Preferred Qualifications. Using Bullet Format ---

  • Experience in high performance computing languages such as C++, including CUDA

  • Experience with software containers using Podman or Docker.

  • Experience with Ansible for software deployment in distributed systems.

  • Experience in development or operations of radar HWILs

  • Experience working on any radar or communications related program or project

  • Experience utilizing AI tools to augment technical output (i.e. to improve/automate documentation or code generation)

  • MS degree from an ABET accredited college or university in Computer Engineering or related technical field.

  • Personnel / Line management experience

Pay Range:

Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
