Requirements
Education: Radiology Technology program in AMA approved 2 year program or AAS degree in Radiologic Technology.
License: NYS license
Certifications: ARRT certification
Experience: 2 year experience as a Rad Tech.
Responsibility Summary
Performs technical and interventional radiographic assignments. Exercises complex skill, judgement and knowledge of the principles and methods of radiologic technology. Performs diagnostic radiographic interventional studies as requested. Performs a variety of duties in conjunction with the radiologist to perform radiographic procedures not requiring supervision. Performs radiographic procedures of a highly specialized nature such as angiograms, biopsies and other interventional exams. Assumes responsibility for quality assurance and patient flow in special procedures as required. Performs infection control according to universal precautions. Special Procedures Technician shall have the ability to provide diagnostic radiographic procedures to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and interventional studies to adult and geriatric patients.
