We’re looking for experienced and reliable Kitchen Porters to join Chester Race Company for the 2026 season. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and being part of exciting live events, we’d love you to work with us.
This is a varied and rewarding opportunity supporting an outstanding programme of events — from race days at Chester Racecourse and Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse, to weddings, private celebrations, festivals, and nationally televised awards and shows. You’ll work at prestigious venues across the region, playing a vital role in keeping our kitchens running smoothly as part of our expert catering teams.

General Responsibilities:
Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen during events and service periods
Washing dishes, cookware, and utensils using commercial dishwashing equipment
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchens and back-of-house areas
Assisting the kitchen team with basic food preparation for lunch and dinner services
Working as part of the wider catering team to support efficient service delivery
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is desirable
A positive, enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Strong awareness of cleanliness, hygiene, and safe working practices
Reliable, hardworking, and a strong team player
Pay Rates (inclusive of holiday pay):
💷 £9.85 per hour (ages 16-17)
💷 £14.60 per hour (ages 18+)
