Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $2,988.57 to $3,320.83+ biweekly amount; actual pay will be adjusted based on experience. May be eligible for a discretionary bonus annually.

The Race Crew and Event Manager is responsible for the coordination of logistics, and the implementation and on-site direction of operational support for athlete training programs, race events, competitions and special events. Manages the allocation of departmental resources for cross-functional initiatives and summer programs. Responsibilities include operational planning and support of both Winter and Summer programs and maintaining a proactive seasonal schedule of resource allocation for on-hill programs, events, groups, and activations. Resources include the use of department labor, equipment, gear, tools, machinery, and resort infrastructure, along with procuring support from external suppliers and interfacing with the demands of event organizers.
Manage Race, Competitions & Event Operations Crew on-site directing daily operational responsibilities and prioritization of duties to support race/competitions, events and programs. Works closely with the Events & Programs department to coordinate staffing and create operations plans and directs staff to ensure multiple priorities are supported. Coordinates with Group Manager, Mountain and Resort Operations departments to plan and execute initiatives. Helps lead and provide oversight to maintain safe, organized standards for internal and external department workspace, storage areas and venues throughout the resort and on mountain. Serve as a liaison to departments to plan, communicate, and complete special projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the Race & Comps Crew. Manage the hiring process and oversee training and development of staff. Ensure Resort policies and safety procedures are followed. Hold staff accountable for demonstrating professionalism, recognizing the importance of maintaining the reputation of the department and serving as an ambassador for the company.
Prioritizes the tasks for various events and programs over specific periods of time i.e. Early Season Race Training, large scale races and competitions (World Cup training, races/competitions, Grand Prix, Summer Events and activations etc.) Sets timelines to ensure advanced planning and preparation allows for operational support of more than one initiative.
Assist in planning of on-hill training, races and competitions. Manages crew to successfully execute all aspects of these programs and events. Lead crew in coordination of materials and infrastructure, builds, setting net, maintaining venues and the daily operations of the training program and races. Directs tear-down, loadout and ensures clean-up of venue and work area.
Develops event timelines and assists with planning of races and competitions working with team to coordinate with organizers and communicate with colleagues across the resort. Creates Ops Plans and hold regular ops meetings with Crew to communicate event plans and daily operations to ensure clear direction, efficiency and successful execution.
Responsible for the overall safety of the race/competitions department, including risk mitigation, safety training/practices, and appropriate staffing/scheduling
Contributes daily to build the brand as the athlete’s mountain by supporting one of the Resort’s important priorities, which is to support all levels of athletes’ progression and development in all disciplines of snow-sports.
Ensure the team clearly understands their responsibilities and priorities while following timelines and operating in a productive manner. Direct Crew in safety needs for venues, timing of builds and tear down and all operational needs are met to successfully execute race and competitions. Responsible for successful event venue builds and removal.
Support the Race, Events, Competitions, Partner Activations & Programs. Work collaboratively with all departments and department leads.
Serve as liaison to departments and lead cross-functional initiatives to ensure coordination of roles and responsibilities amongst all stakeholders. Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures to ensure shared ownership and maintenance of areas throughout the Resort and on-hill. Participates in the creation of new and diverse programs to differentiate the Resort and enhance guest experience.
Participates in the overall planning process from start to finish and facilitates operational needs to deliver a seamless and successful experience for internal and external participants. Works closely with partnerships and groups services managers/coordinators on event plans. Coordinates logistics with mountain operations and other departments to create the most suitable approach for execution.
Ensures Crew is properly maintaining, organizing and storing infrastructure, equipment and tools. Oversee shared responsibility to keep office space, locker room, storge spaces and shared outdoor space is organized and clean.

Basic Requirements:
Is flexible with hours and days of work, including holidays.
Must be able to lift and ski or snowboard with an excess of 50 lbs.
Must have fine motor skills and ability to work in extreme weather for long periods of time.
Must be able to ski or ride to all locations on the mountain.
Must be available weekends, holidays and some nights.
Must have a valid US Driver’s License

Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Experience and Special Skills:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Preferred candidates will have management experience and at least five years in the competitive snow sports industry.
Current USSA PSIA or AASI (or equivalent) certification, USSA Level 1 Official and Chief of Race or Referee required.
Due to our dynamic environment, candidates must be open-minded and ready to learn new skills.
In addition, upon hiring, the Manager will begin to attend applicable leadership classes.
