Rogers Group is currently seeking a Quarry Utility Worker for our Jacks Mountain Quarry located in Glade Hill, VA The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment and maintaining a safe designated work area.

• Must possess the ability to operate skid loaders, heavy duty off-road, earth or rockmovingequipment(suchasrigidframe/articulatedhaulunits,off-roadhaul trucks, and/or wheel loaders), and other pieces of heavy equipment.
• Beabletoperformpreventativemaintenancesuchasgreasingandclean-up; and know basic functions of various types of heavy equipment.
• Pre-shifteachequipmentthatisusedeveryday.
• Abidebyallcompanysafetyguidelines.
• Maintainadequateguardingatandaroundallpinchpoints.
• Knowingthebasicfunctionsofeachpieceofheavyequipmentthatisbeingused and job duty that is being performed.
• Knowingproperbermheightsandmaintainingthemas needed.

Wages starting at$18.00/hr for entry level candidates. Some positions require no experience and Rogers Group will train. Higher pay for skilled operators of heavy equipment with quarry and mining experience. Overtime available and extensive medical and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• Highschooldiplomaorequivalentispreferred.
• Atleast1yearexperienceworkinginarockquarryis preferred.
• Someexperiencewithusingacuttingtorchandwelderis preferred.
• Someexperiencewithoperatingsmallerpiecesofequipment.

Physical Requirements

• Physicalrequirementsincludevisualacuity,speechandhearing,handandeye coordination, standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, climbing on equipment, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, balancing, climbing on equipment, working at heights up to 350 feet, repetitive motion, and squatting - all for extended periods of time (up to 12 hours) to perform the essential functions.

Working Conditions

• Mustworkoutsideinallweatherconditions:heat,cold,dust,andwetaminimum of 8hours per day. Work in high noise levelareas while wearing proper PPE. May have exposure to dust, diesel exhaust, lubricants, solvents, various fuels, etc.
