Your next opportunity

As the Quarry Manager, you'll be responsible for the safety, compliance, culture, operational and financial performance of a 3.5 million tonnes per annum 24/7 operation. Reporting into the Metro Quarries Operations Manager we are looking for somebody with a growth mindset to deliver continuous operational improvements to elevate the site from good to great. You will need to bring a drive and determination to deliver outstanding results across a range of operational areas.

Your day will involve:

  • Safety First: Champion and enforce safety protocols to achieve outstanding performance outcomes.
  • People Leadership: Lead, inspire, and mentor staff and contractors through hands-on management and genuine care for your team.
  • Operational Excellence: An energy to deliver the incremental improvement of safe, compliant, reliable and optimized assets
  • Oversee 24/7 across multiple shifts, ensuring production and maintenance aligns with safety and quality standards, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the site meets it’s licensing, consent, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strategic Contribution: Play a key role in short and long-term planning, capital works, and asset optimization and maintenance strategy.

  • Safety: Experience of delivering a positive zero harm culture across both employees and contractors.
  • Teamwork: A proven ability to build collaborative shifts on a multi shift operation and the ability to work across all levels of the broader business. You will you build trust, resolve issues proactively, and bring out the best in your team
  • Ambition: You're self-motivated and solutions-focused, with the drive, ambition and energy to go narrow and deep to find the root cause of issues and implement long term fixes to drive continuous improvement. You want tomorrow to be better than today everyday.
  • Accountability: You own the performance of your site and take accountability for your team.
  • Respect: You deliver these standards and improvements respectfully mindful of the many different cultures, stakeholders and experiences at play
  • Financial experience: You have experience of accurately managing operational budgets, developing compelling business cases for investment and a solid understanding of inventory management.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of quarry/mining leadership ideally with a NSW Practicing certificate.
