Job Description

Our client, a semi-state organisation, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Capital Investment Division. The successful candidate will be involved in a transformative infrastructure programme aimed at modernising and expanding public transport capacity and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen, experience in public works contracts, and the ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage contracts from tender stage through to project completion.
• Utilise internal and external resources effectively to support project delivery.
• Ensure value for money is achieved in conjunction with the Commercial Manager.
• Review and update project budget estimates and cost plans regularly.
• Challenge project elements that impact time and cost.
• Provide commercial and contractual support within project management teams.
• Assist in risk identification, analysis, and management planning.
• Review tender documentation to ensure completeness and contract compliance.
• Prepare bills of quantities and manage project budgets and costs.

Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or Project Management.
• Minimum 7 years’ relevant experience in large-scale construction projects.
• Chartered membership (MRICS or SCSI) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Public Works contracts and other standard forms (CWMF, RIAI, FIDIC, NEC).
• Proven ability in contract administration and dispute resolution.
• Proficiency in cost monitoring, change control, and final account negotiations.
