Job Description

Our client, a well-established consultancy, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Mahon, Cork. This role involves working across a range of high-profile projects, providing cost management and commercial support from early design through to final account. The successful candidate will be based in the Cork office, with hybrid working included in the package.

To be successful, the preferred candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a consultancy or client-side environment, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation for various construction projects.
2. Manage post-contract duties including valuations, variations, and final accounts.
3. Liaise with clients, contractors, and design teams to ensure cost-effective solutions.
4. Monitor project progress and provide regular financial reports.
5. Conduct risk and value management assessments.
6. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and contractual obligations.
7. Support procurement processes and contract negotiations.
8. Assist in the preparation of feasibility studies and cost planning.
9. Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and systems.

Role Requirements:

1. Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
2. Minimum of 4 years’ post-qualification experience in a consultancy or client-side role.
3. Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement methods.
4. Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office Suite.
5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
6. Full driving licence and eligibility to work in Ireland.
