Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage project cost planning, commercial control, and financial performance across construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects remain commercially viable and are delivered within approved budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, BOQs, and cost plans for construction projects
- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and forecasts
- Prepare regular cost reports and commercial updates for project management
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Negotiate rates, pricing, and commercial terms with subcontractors and suppliers
- Identify cost risks, variations, and opportunities for cost optimization
- Prepare, assess, and manage variation orders, claims, and payment applications
- Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and assess costs against actual work
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers on commercial matters
- Maintain accurate records of project costs, contracts, variations, and claims
- Support project teams in maintaining cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle
- Stay informed about construction market trends, material pricing, and industry developments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry
- Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction costs, contracts, estimation, and commercial practices
- Experience with variations, claims, subcontractor management, and cost reporting
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant QS/commercial software
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams
- Experience with precast or pre-stressed concrete projects is an advantage
