We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of construction and building services projects. This role is responsible for preparing estimates and tenders, administering contracts, managing change orders, preparing payment applications, and supporting project profitability throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate pricing, commercial risk management, cost control, and contract administration across multiple projects.
• Review tender opportunities and prepare competitive cost estimates and proposals
• Develop detailed pricing based on bills of quantities, technical specifications, labour, materials, subcontractor costs, and project risks
• Coordinate pricing submissions from suppliers and subcontractors
• Participate in site visits to verify project conditions and pricing assumptions
• Review contract documentation and identify commercial risks
• Establish and maintain project commercial records
• Support contract negotiations and project handovers
• Identify, value, and administer project variations and change orders
• Maintain change order registers and supporting documentation
• Track change order approvals and project cost impacts
• Prepare monthly progress valuations and payment applications
• Verify project progress against contractual milestones
• Monitor certified payments, retention amounts, and outstanding balances
• Maintain cost databases, pricing benchmarks, and commercial templates
• Conduct cost analysis and reporting
• Monitor project commercial performance and profitability
• Support continuous improvement of estimating and commercial processes
• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Construction Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of Quantity Surveying experience within construction, MEP, building services, infrastructure, or related sectors
• Demonstrated experience preparing estimates, tenders, change orders, and payment applications
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial administration
• Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience using project management, estimating, or commercial management software
• Strong knowledge of cost planning, budgeting, and contract administration
• Familiarity with industry-standard forms of contract is an asset
• Strong commercial awareness
• Excellent attention to detail

The ideal candidate is a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor with strong estimating and contract administration experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and profitability.
