Job Description

A. Key Responsibilities:

1. Cost estimation:

a. Studying project drawings and specifications to calculate the cost of materials, labor, and other construction elements.

b. Preparing detailed cost breakdowns and budget proposals for clients.

c. Conducting feasibility studies to assess project viability.

2. Contract management:

a. Preparing bills of quantities (BOQ) to clearly define project scope and pricing.

b. Evaluating tenders from contractors and negotiating contract terms.

c. Managing contractual variations and claims throughout the project.

3. Project monitoring:

a. Tracking project costs against the budget, identifying potential cost overruns, and proposing mitigation strategies.

b. Analyzing variations in design and their impact on costs

c. Reporting and communication:

d. Preparing comprehensive reports for clients, project managers, and other stakeholders detailing project costs and financial status.

e. Collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project alignment and cost control.

B. Qualifications and Experience:

1. Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineer

2. At least 3- 5 years relevant experience in estimation and costing of Bill of Quantities

3. Strong analytical skills to interpret complex construction drawings and specifications

4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage contracts and relationships with contractors

5. Expertise in construction cost estimating software

6. Knowledge of relevant construction contracts and legal frameworks

7. Understanding of project management principles

8. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
