As an Associate or Vice President within Quantitative Trading & Research, Markets Treasury, you will contribute to the design and implementation of advanced models and tools to assess and optimize the firm's usage of financial resources — including balance sheet, capital, funding, and liquidity — across a broad range of products. You will support and help drive strategic initiatives using state-of-the-art quantitative modelling, AI, and machine learning, partnering closely with stakeholders and technology teams. Your role offers meaningful ownership of modelling and analytics projects, automation of reporting processes, and delivery of actionable insights. You will serve as a key point of contact across markets and technology, championing innovation and collaborating with colleagues in a collaborative, evolving environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, calibrate, and enhance quantitative models and tools to assess and optimize the usage of financial resources — including balance sheet, capital, funding, and liquidity — across a broad range of financial products, translating product knowledge into practical quantitative solutions
- Drive complex data analysis workstreams, identifying and explaining the key drivers of financial resource consumption within large sets of financial data, and translating findings into strategic recommendations for stakeholders
- Contribute to the design and delivery of efficient, scalable, and usable modelling and analytics frameworks for treasury and resource optimization applications, helping to shape technical direction and best practices for the team
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with technology teams and business stakeholders to scale modelling and analytical frameworks, define optimization strategies, and ensure alignment with broader organizational priorities
- Play an active role in transforming and modernizing a global investment bank, championing innovation and supporting the adoption of model-driven, data-driven decision-making across the franchise
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience within a quantitative or modelling role in finance
- Strong quantitative, modelling, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply quantitative reasoning to financial resource and optimization problems across a broad range of financial products and navigate ambiguity in complex, multi-dimensional problems
- Markets experience with a good understanding of a range of financial products, trading concepts, terminology, and the broader investment banking landscape
- Demonstrate strong programming skills, particularly in Python and/or Java, with experience developing robust, production-grade systems
- Solid software engineering, algorithm design, and development skills with a commitment to robust testing, verification, and code quality standards
- Advanced degree or equivalent in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
- Ability to help drive technical and modelling projects from conception through delivery, including contributing to architecture decisions and stakeholder management
- Strong communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and advise partners and stakeholders on complex and technical topics with precision and clarity
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Modelling expertise applied to financial products and resource optimization, with an emphasis on quantitative problem solving and product knowledge
- Strong understanding of a bank's balance sheet, treasury operations, and/or demonstrated experience with financial optimization problems
- Knowledge of the different types of financial resources and constraints (such as capital, funding, and liquidity), with the ability to articulate and help implement strategies for optimizing their usage
