Job Description

Quantitative MRI R&D Engineer (Mid / Senior)
Location: Remote (Europe preferred)
Team: Quantitative MRI Research & Engineering

Corsmed is redefining quantitative MRI through physics-accurate digital twins of MRI scanners, using them as a platform to deliver reliable and clinically meaningful tissue parameter mapping that enhances diagnostic insight, shortens examinations, and reduces overall imaging cost. We operate where advanced physics, numerical methods, high-performance computing, and modern software engineering converge.

We are expanding our R&D team and are looking for engineers and researchers who want to shape the future of quantitative MRI alongside a group of highly motivated domain experts.

What you will do

  • Design, analyze, and prototype advanced MR sequences and novel simulation features to expand our physics-accurate MRI simulation platform.
  • Develop and validate reconstruction and optimization methods for qMR applications, including emerging workflows in motion-resolved imaging.
  • Take ownership of translating research concepts into robust, production-ready software modules.
  • Explore new scientific directions, evaluate technical opportunities, and contribute to long-term architecture and roadmap decisions.
  • Collaborate with a distributed team of physicists, engineers, and scientists working across Europe.

What we’re looking for

Core experience

  • Strong understanding of MRI physics and pulse sequence design
  • Practical experience with image reconstruction and optimization algorithms (e.g., parallel imaging, compressed sensing, model-based reconstruction, deep learning-based methods).
  • Hands-on experience with at least one clinical MRI system.

Nice to have

  • Experience in free-breathing cardiac imaging and associated reconstruction workflows (e.g., XD-GRASP, low-rank motion-resolved approaches, non-Cartesian cardiac reconstructions).
  • Familiarity with quantitative MRI techniques (biophysical modeling, mapping pipelines, simulation-based qMR).
  • Experience with numerical optimization, signal modeling, or physics-based simulation.

Software skills

  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Experience with scientific computing or machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) is considered a plus.
  • Good engineering habits: version control, testing culture, reproducibility, and clean code principles.

Who you are

  • Curious, self-driven, and eager to tackle complex scientific and engineering problems.
  • Comfortable working both independently and within a distributed team.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Motivated by a fast-moving environment where innovation and scientific rigor go hand in hand.
  • Looking to grow with the company and take on leadership responsibilities over time.

Join us if you want to work on cutting-edge MRI technology, contribute to foundational qMR simulation tools, and shape a field that is rapidly advancing.

Applications with CV and a short personal letter are welcome—we look forward to meeting you.
