Job Description

Quality Technician – Welding

Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the role

As a Quality Technician – Welding, you’ll be part of a team that safeguards Alfa Laval’s reputation for quality and innovation. Your day-to-day work will include:

  • Performing visual and dimensional inspections of welded components and assemblies
  • Verifying compliance with welding procedures, standards, and customer specifications
  • Supporting welders and production teams with technical guidance and feedback
  • Managing non-conformities, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Maintaining inspection records and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborating with engineering and quality colleagues to enhance processes and product reliability

This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the process—observing, analysing, and improving. You’ll have the opportunity to influence how we work and help us raise the bar even higher.

Who you are

You’re a detail-oriented professional who takes pride in doing things right. You combine technical expertise with a proactive mindset and a passion for quality. You’re comfortable working in a dynamic production environment and enjoy collaborating across teams.

We believe you have:

  • A technical education in welding, materials, or mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Solid experience in welding inspection or quality control within manufacturing
  • Knowledge of welding standards (such as ISO 3834, ISO 5817, or ASME)
  • Certification for NDT V2 is an advantage
  • Certification as a Welding Inspector (IWI, IWS, or similar) is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills and a structured, solution-oriented approach
  • A genuine interest in continuous improvement and sustainable manufacturing

Why join Alfa Laval?

At Alfa Laval, we believe in teamwork, curiosity, and dedication. You’ll be part of a global company with more than 140 years of pioneering spirit—where innovation and responsibility go hand in hand. We offer a supportive environment where your ideas matter, your growth is encouraged, and your work makes a real difference.
