Job Description

We are looking for a talented Quality Technician to join our team specializing in Quality for our Master Rebuild Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Support engineers with production and inspection activities, helping to ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Monitor material quality throughout the manufacturing process and recommend adjustments to improve product performance and consistency.
  • Conduct inspections, tests, and measurements on components, materials, and finished products to identify defects and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Accurately record test results and maintain quality documentation, providing reliable data to support operational and quality decisions.
  • Operate, program, and maintain measurement and testing equipment to deliver precise and dependable inspection results.
  • Assist customers and internal stakeholders in understanding product specifications and interpreting measurement data to support quality outcomes.
  • Participate in measurement uncertainty studies, contributing to the accuracy, reliability, and traceability of measurement and calibration processes.
  • Support the calibration and maintenance of testing equipment, ensuring measurement systems remain compliant, effective, and audit-ready.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Develop a strong understanding of quality management principles, calibration processes, and metrology, including the ability to analyze measurement systems and identify sources of measurement uncertainty.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, capability studies, process audits, inspections, and testing to ensure product and process quality.
  • Build strong problem-solving and analytical skills to support warranty cost analysis, supplier recovery activities, process improvements, and the implementation of effective corrective actions.
  • Collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to understand quality requirements, resolve customer quality issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Education/ Experience

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

The compensation for this role is aligned with a local bargained or unionized agreement
